Chair is one of the most popular element of furniture. It always has a place in society, and has a strong connection between human and nature. The designer thinks that chair is more than just a furniture that people can seat on it. Chair has emotions. And the emotions of a chair made by designer through the chair’s form, function, and materials. In American Households, there were a chair provided for evely family member to sit down to dinner. We think that most important thing in the world is a dining table, so the designer decided to design an element of a dining table. A dining chair.

 

Materials

Teakwood (Tectona Grandis) picked as the main material of the chair. Teak is a yellowish brown timber with good grain and texture. We choosed Teakwood because of it’s durabilty, and also it has a good wood texture, to give a natural accent.

 

Design

The Chair is all about simplicity and elegance. As a visual killer, the chair’s backrest connected with the legs as it looks on side view, without a wood join in another surfaces, it gives a unique form. The chair’s legs are more feminine. As a visual accent, the designer designed the legs with semi-A form, to give a good aspect of aesthetic.
